Piano/Piano Pedagogy

Dr. Haroutounian has an international reputation as a leader in the field of piano pedagogy. She shares innovative teaching approaches she has developed through workshops, articles and publications. She developed the piano pedagogy program at George Mason University that offers a Masters in Piano Pedagogy.

She presents workshops internationally in the areas of piano pedagogy, performance, composition, theory, and chamber music. Workshops that expand on ideas found in Fourth Finger on B-Flat: Effective Strategies for Teaching Piano are categorized together. Workshops can be modified or expanded in length to suit multiple day seminars or one-credit courses in piano pedagogy at colleges and universities.

Dr. Haroutounian can also arrange a day in combination with workshops for private or small group pedagogy/performance lessons where she works with piano teachers seeking questions about repertoire or technique they are working with in lessons as well as in their own piano skill development.

Teachers can choose pedagogy workshops that feature her many publications, most recently Palette of Touches that features different legato, staccato, and chordal touches on the keyboard to bring tonal color to students from elementary to intermediate levels.

Contact Dr. Haroutounian for discussion of fees for workshops, seminars, and coursework.
